Robot Drone League
Aerial robotics, and one of our two primary competitions. For the past three years we have competed in the Robot Drone League Championships at East Tennessee State University.
Stewarts Creek Robotics began in 2014 with a scrappy group of 18 middle school students. Ten years later, we have grown into a team of 54 sixth- through twelfth-grade students.
We’ve been busy for the past decade competing in more than 20 competitions and earning well over 100 awards across three leagues. It’s been a wild ride and we are excited to see what the next 10 years have in store.
SC Robotics is committed to helping each individual team member reach their full potential and develop industry-relevant skills and experience they can apply to all their future career goals.
Our team has competed in four different robot competitions. It all started with BEST Robotics, where the team spent a decade and earned most of its record. Today our primary competitions are the Robot Drone League in the winter and the Kilobots Combat Robot League in the spring.

Kilobots Combat Robot League
Our spring competition involves robot combat with the Kilobots Robot Combat League. The competition challenges us to design our own 3D-printed robot that weighs under 1 kg including electronics.
Our team actually breaks down into smaller sub-teams and builds several entries for this event. Our designs, strategy, and skills are then put to the test in the arena in head-to-head matches against other teams’ robots.
We have taken the Tournament Champion title at every Kilobots championship since 2023.
2015 – 2026 · Where we started
BEST Robotics
For eleven seasons SC Robotics competed in the BEST Robotics Inc. National Tournament with the Music City BEST Hub, part of the South’s BEST Region. It is where the team was founded and where it won the bulk of its awards, including eight consecutive BEST Awards.
Each season ran from September to December and challenged the team to build a robot for that year’s themed game, alongside a 70-page engineering notebook, a company display booth and a professional marketing presentation. The team no longer competes in BEST.
